Web hosting giant Iconz, New Zealand Internet services and Web hosting provider has purchased Singapore-based Web hosting provider WebVisions with a big amount in eight figures. The deal will definitely help Iconz in many ways as it will help Iconz capitalize on Kiwi companies with overseas production plants.
WebVision itself is a big tycoon with an employee strength of 150 and offices in 11 Asian countries, including Thailand, India, the Philippines, Indonesia and China. the company is into Web hosting services It is also into reselling Internet connections from regional providers.
The step taken by the chief operating officer Sean Weekes will help Iconz to operate as a "one stop shop" for Kiwi companies who are looking for Web hosting or Internet connections for their offices in different countries such as Southeast Asia and Japan. It will also help Iconz to precure cheaper labor for New Zealand companies to move manufacturing to countries to capitalizse on a growing trend.
The acquisition adds 42,000 customers, which included subsidiaries of Microsoft, Johnson and Johnson and DaimlerChrysler, to Iconz' 95,000 base. This is by far the largest acquisition to date by Iconz, which has also purchased New Zealand Web hosting firms 2day.com and Webfarm. |
